What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy is an evidence-based approach to optimise and promote health through nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. Evidence-based studies contain the highest level of accuracy, reliability and provide the basis for our advice. Nutritional Therapy uses the benefits of whole, organic and unprocessed foods for optimal wellbeing, associated with the therapeutic effects of certain nutrients for specific health conditions and diseases. With knowledge of the physiological and biochemical processes in the body, our Nutritional Therapists use a wide range of tools to assess your health and identify potential nutritional and bodily imbalances that may contribute to or cause your symptoms. We do not diagnose or treat diseases but advise you on what to eat and how to change your diet and lifestyle to restore, maintain or reach optimal health. We work in collaboration with complementary therapists as well as GP's and other medical professionals if needed.
What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a system of healthcare that encourages and promotes the body’s self-healing powers. In our clinic, we acknowledge the interconnection between the physical, mental and emotional aspects of an individual and how it can affect their health. Rather than just treating or suppressing symptoms, we aim at addressing the root cause of the disease, reducing the risk of its reoccurrence and improving your overall health at the same time. In doing so, we look at the body from a 360° perspective by considering multiple factors affecting your body and mind. As Naturopathic Nutritional Therapists we seek to promote or regain a balance within ourselves by taking into account your nutrition, lifestyle and surrounding environment.
What is Functional Testing?
We work with well-known and reliable laboratories that deliver the broadest range of functional, nutritional, genetic and autoimmunity testing services. These tests are designed to identify nutritional deficiencies and imbalances, assess the gut microbiome, monitor hormone levels, determine sensitivities and exposures to toxic chemicals and, among others, evaluate common genetic variations which may indicate a predisposition for health vulnerabilities. Functional Testing will be recommended depending on your health complaints, your preferences and your needs.
What is Herbal medicine?
The use of plants in healing is as old as humans themselves. Plant medicine is the original medicine of humankind and represents the symbiosis of all species on earth. We are “hardwired” in biological terms, to accept and respond to the special medicine of plants, and even pharmaceutical medicine tries to hitch a ride on this principle by appropriating, copying and mimicking the way that plants interact with the human organism. Plants are also considered to have “energetic” properties. These properties are conceived as a dynamic interaction of plants with our bodies, for example in terms of warming, cooling, moistening or drying, nourishing or draining, stimulating or relaxing.
